Dont know what they have but the Grill has gumbo. .but the Station is the best.
What time do they close?
No.
Half a bushel in so ga is about $54 market price might be a tad less in Apalachicola.
Fresh, and delicious. Also try the yellow fin tuna dip!!!
Don't know because we went in April. But I can promise you that you will be amazed at the Oysters Rockefeller and the yellow fin tuna dip. The staff is hilarious. If you go, tell Danny, Barbara, and Dwayne we said hello!!
They do have a table outside now
This place is a hoot! The two guys were cracking jokes left and right! Definitely a good place to eat and drink!
Amazing owners and awesome food Barbara kept us laughing and on our toes will be back
Good prices. Good food. Colorful staff.
We ABSOLUTELY LOVE This little place!! ðŸ˜ðŸ¤© Nice atmosphere, Great Seafood, & Awesome People!! Duane, his wife, & Danny made us feel like part of the fam.... he had us laughing the whole time he was shucking. DEFINITELY A New Fav. Spot of Ours! 😉ðŸ½ðŸ¤ðŸ»ðŸ’š
Fresh and amazingly delicious. Raw oysters were right on time and fried grouper sandwich the best I've ever tasted. Fresh lettuce, tomato and onion. Perfect fries. Down home real people, friendly staff. Want to have lunch all over again.
This was both a fun place to eat and the food was damn good too. The atmosphere reminded me of "Cheers" with the banter going on between the locals. The oysters were huge and tasty. We tried all version from raw to Rockefeller. All were great. This is well within the bounds of its name, hole-in-the-wall. It's not a big place and you could easily end up sharing a table with strangers. That is want makes this place different from nearly any restaurant of any ilk. Then again, I'm not sure this is best described as a restaurant and more like a sports bar.
Great food and very fun environment. Barbara will make you laugh and have a good time. Food came out very fast but service was slow overall. Hope to come back soon!
Barbara is the best server! Delicious raw oysters, parmesan & butter oysters and fried grouper. So glad we literally found an awesome hole in the wall. We will be back!!! And Dwayne was really helpful in helping us find a wholesaler for a bushel of oysters. 5 stars, no question!
The best. We come here practically every time we’re in Apalachicola. The gumbo is amazing, the oysters scrumptious and everything else really good. Best of all are the people. Barbara, Danny and Dwayne are all the nicest folks. It’s small so plan accordingly. For a fun afternoon, grab a seat at the bar, have a cold beer, eat some good food and people watch!
Amazing raw Osters. Go in knowing Barb is a jewel of Appalachicola and has a big heart.
If you don’t know - you are losing out. We’ve been coming here for years and they have never disappointed. Oysters are amazing, grouper sandwich will never let you down and the peel and eat shrimp will have you ordering more. Just don’t waste Miss Barbara’s time! Love these folks.
Best oysters I've ever eaten in my whole darn life...and I've eaten many! Service is so perfect for a hole in the wall. I will come back here first on my next trip to St. George!
We picked the place not just because of good reviews , but also because of the menu we liked ( including prices). That Thursday evening the place was packed! The crowd was mostly local, friendly , ready to help you with choices and recommendations. We ordered oysters and gumbo and it was the right choice - both were very delicious - real fresh seafood. And waitress was very helpful , so we enjoyed our meals and good company of locals. Good place to visit . If you would drive by - please, stop - you would not regret.
Had a great time here. Oysters are fantastic. And Barbara, Danny and Duane are the best at conversation and service.
My favorite place in apalachicola. Great food. Great beer. Cool little place.
Apalachicola advertised itself as THE OYSTER CAPITOL OF THE WORLD, so after he got out of class, my son and I went there so we could compare it to Genes in Panama City. The people in the Hole in the Wall were friendly and nice, however, one did seem to be 'floating' off the ground a bit. To our dismay, we were told that this was no longer the Oyster Capitol of the World, because the bay had been fished out. So we were served oysters from Texas (may as well stayed home). They failed miserably when compared to Genes. The key lime pie was ok, but I have my doubts about it being made there.Interestingly, although there is a brewery (pub) right next door, all they had was bottled beer, and they evaded questions about local beers. Bottom line, a disappointing visit.
The food is delicious, and the waitress Barbara is a trip! It is a small joint with a bar and 4 tables that seat 6 to 8 (grab your own table). If you have a big group, space is tight. All of the oysters are superb!
Small so expect to wait during peak hours. Well worth the visit for some really good food. Owner is a super nice guy, too.
Arguably the best oysters we've had anywhere in the US. Succulent, fresh, tasty, exquisitely served with much love! The ambiance is wonderful and the place is popular with both locals and visitors. We had a plate of fresh oysters and the oyster chowder... A memorable meal.
Great food and great service!!!
Very small place, watch for the entrance! Lively and entertaining, especially if you sit at the bar and converse with the staff. Oysters are delicious and probably best price in Apalach!
By far the best place in Apalachicola for oysters and down-home service! It is small though, so seating is limited but it is such a great place, crowds of people stand outside waiting for others to leave. That is just how awesome this place is! Very pleased!
Absolutely the best in all areas...best food, best prices, best people! We love it, week after week after week!
Family of 4 adults & 3 kids. 3:30 on Wednesday 10-16-19. Just refused to seat us. Only 6 people allow at a table??? Are you kidding me??? Say goodbye to a 100.00+ revenue. We will find a restaurant that doesn’t mind making money.
I really like the grouper basket. The owners and staff are great, especially Barbara.
It's been three years since we were there, could not wait to come back. Saturday 1/21/2020 we made it. Food was FANTASTIC, service super for as busy as it was. Owner and our waitress was the best. Would eat there every day if we could. Thank you.
Friendly casual food. Great oysters
We went to this restaurant after looking at reviews and being recommended by several people.Wherever we go we always ask the best places to go. We always joke about the best ones are hole in the walls! Lol! We really did find the Hole in the wall this time! The food was as good as expected! We had the grouper basket and the baked oysters. The oysters were large and delicious! The grouper was lightly breaded a great as well. The huspuppieswere great! We really enjoyed everything.Very small so get there early!
Crab claws were delicious, my husband loved his fried shrimp! Very friendly, family restaurant.
It's OK. Service is not fast, but expected for fresh seafood. The Oyster basket is good, but not the best. They use a weird batter. Also, The baskets are small for the price you pay. I left hungry and I can't even eat that much.
Yes they have gumbo . Yes they have the best oysters. Yes they have character. Get there!
Best oysters I have ever eaten. The people who run the place are very friendly. Great place. Don't miss it if you enjoy oysters on the half shell
The best dozen raw I have had maybe, possibly ever. Excellent price. Great size and flavor. Clean shells. Shucked in front of when ordered. Perfectly balance cocktail sauce. Simple menu. I have been an oyster fan for a long time. If your about the oysters. This is go out of your way good. No Tv’s or fancy many. Straight up a real, genuine, old Florida oyster bar. I paid $12 for a dozen. Have not seen that in years. Great bribe to it. Size, clean shell. You don’t want to miss it if your into oyster.
I came in by myself to have a meal here recommended by a shop owner down the road. It's a small dive bar setting with not much room for big parties, I sat at the bar and was helped immediately and convinced to eat an oyster as i have never had one before. The oysters here are seriously amazing at a great price and I ended up eating two dozen by the time the night was over. I also got a grouper basket and it was fried well and also very good. Fresh ground horseradish and amazing house made cocktail sauce, the best I've ever had. There's a good selection of bottled beer only and prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is loud and fun so don't expect quiet personable dining here. You can't really beat fresh shucked oysters right in front of you that were harvested locally just a short while ago. Come here if you want some oysters and seafood and to have a good time with the locals.
Busy place . If you are in a hurry, this is not your place.
Looking for lunch mid afternoon while visiting Apalachicola. This was truly a hole in the wall. If you are looking for oysters great, if not plan for just ok food. Only 4 large family style tables & bar stools around the bar. Everyone was friendly, wait was not too long just don't have high expectations.
Reasonable price on raw oysters. Super welcoming owners. A must vist if you come to Apalclacola, FL. located on the forgotten coast.
We loved this place. We had the crab cake basket and the fried grouper. Small intimate place with great "sea ambiance" ...community seating allowed us to meet two couples while we enjoyed our meal. I loved the nostalgia in this place...you gotta go😎
The raw oysters and shrimp were AMAZING. You could definitely tell that they were fresh and the shrimps were never frozen. We came at rush time, so we had to wait some time. It's pretty small, literally a hole in the wall. The manager doesn't let you move chairs though, so you can't drag a chair over. Kind of wierd, but it didn't affect us. Decoration was great.
Love it, great place. Takes me back to the old hole in the wall bars I loved growing up.
Everyone should visit this quaint, family run, seafood restaurant. The best prices. Love the raw oysters and special salad.
Nice local spot. It's an old building with a lot of charm. Crab cakes were excellent. Good place for oysters. Service was friendly.
First time here and we loved the place. Very casual and delicious food. Read the other positive reviews for some good information.
I heard about Hole in the Wall Seafood last year and have been hoping to visit ever since. Well, today was the day, and I wasn’t disappointed. Tried some of all the different preparations and each was uniquely satisfying. All were plump and sweet and some of the best I’ve ever tasted.
The bartender at Harry’s told us this was the best restaurant in town and she did not lie. The only thing I found disappointing is that they are closed Sunday and Monday so we won’t get a chance to go back. Our waitress was wonderful- she ran the whole floor by herself and managed to keep everyone happy. The food was delicious. We had the tuna and boiled shrimp for starters (Word of advice- get the full pound of shrimp, you’ll want the extra) and the clam and shrimp baskets for dinner. Everything was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The best part was the communal seating (which I normally hate). We spent a couple of hours talking with a lovely couple. An overall great experience.
i cannot pass through Apalachicola without a visit to The hole in the wall. They have great oysters, at a great price. AND the fried grouper basket is awsome.... A very large portion that's lightly dredged and fried to perfection. I'm a fried Grouper fanatic. and Whole in the wall is as good as it gets.
Food is great, atmosphere is cozy, but the staff makes the visit so enjoyable. Highly recommend you make this a destination place.
Great local seafood, fair prices and good service. The seating area has maybe 5 or 6 tables and seating at the bar. Staff is very friendly and welcoming to visitors. Great place to eat.
Great local bar and restaurant. The grouper and shrimp was great. There was also entertainment from patrons who were feeling no pain.
Awesome staff. Awesome food. I will definitely be back. Definitely would recommend everyone to eat here. Hamburgers are homemade and delicious.
